President Nelson Mandela has issued a stern warning to South Africa's leaders not to under-estimate the threat posed by right-wing extremists.
President Mandela said although most people supported change, there was still a lot of resistance among some whites.
Mandela invited South Africa's newest world boxing champion Thulani "Sugarboy" Malinga to his home to congratulate him on his latest victory.
Malinga, 36, on Saturday took the World Boxing Council super middleweight championship from Briton Nigel Benn at a fight in Newcastle, England.
But even a sporting victory for his country could not distract him from party politics.
The President repeated a warning he has often issued to those even in his own ranks, not to underestimate the white Right.
