Mangosuthu Buthelezi - Ultimately there was the Government of National Unity after the election. I was very happy to know that Madiba had appointed me and a few of my colleagues from Inkatha to be part of the Government of National Unity. So I worked with Madiba.
Q: Did he consult you about which of your colleagues he should appoint?
He said I must just give him the names, he accepted the names I gave him, he didn’t try to veto any of the names.
Q: Did he consult you on what posts they would occupy, or was that something he had decided himself?
No, I think he mentioned the posts that were available and I suggested people.
